'Wizards' held after 'get rich quick' potion kills 8
Detectives are questioning a group of 'wizards' over the deaths of eight men who were poisoned in Indonesia.
Poisoned by potion
The suspects were held after the victims' bodies were found in shared graves.
It is claimed the accused had persuaded the men that they were sorcerers and got them to pay thousands of dollars.
In return, they drank a 'potion' during a ritual to make them rich.
A police spokesman claimed: "The victims were asked to get into a hole after drinking poison.
"When the victims collapsed, they buried them."
The accused have been detained in the Lebak district, about 60 miles west of Jakarta.
While the majority of Indonesia is Muslim, there remains a widespread belief in the supernatural.
In 1998, an Indonesian court sentenced to death a self-proclaimed sorcerer for strangling 42 women, purportedly in order to strengthen his magic power.
The women, aged 12-30, were buried up to their waists and pointed in the direction of their killers' home.
