Top Gear's Richard Hammond in new 100mph crash
Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has smashed up another car at more than 100mph - a year after dodging death in a dramatic 288mph crash.
The 38-year-old skidded off the track while taking part in a 24-hour Le Mans-style race at British Grand Prix track Silverstone.
Hammond, who was left seriously ill after crashing a rocket-powered car on September 20 last year, was not injured and continued the race once the car had been repaired.
A spokesman for the BBC said: "The three presenters and The Stig were racing a car in a 24 race at Silverstone over the weekend. During the race, at night, Richard was driving and another car shunted him off the track.
"Richard wasn't hurt at all but the car was damaged. It was taken back to the pits and repaired before Richard carried on with the race."
Hammond and fellow presenters James May, Jeremy Clarkson and The Stig were taking turns at racing the £100,000 BMW 330 DTi Sport.
An onlooker told The Sun: 'There didn't seem to be another car involved - Richard was just pushing the car to the limits and lost control.
'When he got out he looked very pale and shaken up. Clarkson put an arm around him.'
